Heart of a great razor
My recent purchase of two spare shaver cassettes are almost routine for me, after several years of using my Braun Series 7. I find that the shaver heads do not last for 18 months, but that is almost certainly due to the way in which I shave and because I also wash the cassette head thoroughly BEFORE I put the razor in the cleaning unit. I have probably used in excess of a dozen cassettes and without exception I have found them to be totally reliable. If I have a criticism, it is that on occasion I have had a little difficulty in sourcing them. Thankfully, the Shaver Shop now seems to be stocking them so as to make them rteadily available.

Why was i worried?
When I first started looking for replacement blade for my Braun shaver I was shocked by some very negative product reviews online; so much so in fact that I delayed my purchase not wanting to by something that was not up to standard or as good as the original. Eventually I had no choice and went ahead with the new 7 series replacement from Shaver Shop. There is NOTHING wrong with this product, it is everything I hoped for, and just like the original new shaver when I first purchased. Good clean close shave, quick and without effort. I could have saved a lot of discomfort by buying earlier. I won't hesitate next time.

Replacement cassettes are a joke
First of all,those 75 x 5 star reviews. Is nothing real anymore?
The feel and ease of use of this Series 7 is great. I'd be happy to use this machine for decades except it has one major flaw and it's the most important thing of all in a shaver. The blades. Not the one it came with, that lasted well and cut well, but all the genuine replacement blades I've bought since. They are a joke. They last 6 - 12mths and the blades feel cheap. They are very sharp for the first few uses and then you drag them out as long as you can stand it, and then go buy another. It's pity because the unit itself, is great.

Not the original foil & cutter
Very disappointed. Been using the Braun Series 7 since 2010 and all was fine until it came time to buy a new foil & cutter. The new one is nothing like the original, doesn't even look like the original. It gives an uncomfortable shave which ends up with scratches and red irritations on the face. It's cheap which shocks me as Braun have always had a fine reputation. And on top of that Braun charges full price. Seeming it isn't the original the price should have been reduced. Done with the Series 7 so gonna have to now save up for a Braun Series 9.

Always a Great Shave For Me
I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about, I started shaving again about 3 years ago, having had a beard for a couple of decades.
Have not had any problems with this particular razor or the foil, I shave every day with it, no nicks, no cuts, no grabbing of my hair.
I've used other electric razor's in the past but I stopped using them primarily because of razor rash on my neck, but with this razor, in conjunction with (if I'm allowed to say it) Nivea's after shave balm, I've not had razor rash in over 3 years of shaving.
So couldn't be happier with this razor.
My only gripe, if any, would be that the foil is all one piece, so it can be difficult to get into the nooks and crannies for cleaning, even with the brush provided.

From good to better
I really can't understand what all the complaining is about. Braun was my first ever electric razor. I am now 70. I upgraded from the earlier design 24 months ago to a series 7. The improvement in design and efficiency is amazing. Regular liquid cleaning has kept the razor in tip top cutting condition, whilst I'm only now replacing the cutting head. Yes, this will vary, depending on the consistency of your beard. When the razor drags, it's time to change the head. That done, you are set. The razor is as good as new.

Cassettes wear out way too fast
My husband has a Braun Series 7 Shaver which we paid a lot of money for. Less than eighteen months later, and he is on his fourth blade replacement part instead of still being on his first one as is advertised (i.e., that they recommend replacing it every 18 months)!!
Within 3-4 months, the blades firstly became very rough and then the whole thing goes into holes and has to be replaced. We have tried leaving it in the liquid full time in the cleaning machine and also have tried taking it out - and drying it - after it was cleaned by the machine. Either way, the blades do not last long at all. As he is in his mid 70's, he does not have to shave every day either.
Very disappointing - and very expensive way to shave at around $55 to $100 for a replacement blade - to say the least!

Replace to maintain a good shave
I knew my shave was not as good as it was, but did not realise how overdue I was for a replacement of the foils and cutter until I bought the replacement cassette. From the first shave, it was like having a new shaver. I have now made a note to replace the cassette as recommended, and not when the foils start breaking down which was many, many months after the recommended replacement period.
